How the savings calculator works
Multiply your daily saving amount by the number of days you save. We use 30 days for a month and 365 days for a year. Calendar months vary in length, so your actual monthly total can be different. These examples assume you put the same amount aside every day, without withdrawals.
This is simple addition, with no interest, investment returns, fees or inflation included. If you skip a day or change your daily amount, your total changes too.
Turn a number into a little daily habit
- Pick a goal. Choose something you want to save toward, like a getaway or a rainy-day fund.
- Choose an amount that fits. Start with what feels comfortable for your day. You can adjust it along the way.
- Put it aside, then log it. Pocket Panda lets you record the amount, put it toward a goal, and see your jar and streak grow.
Pocket Panda is a daily savings tracker for iPhone. Your money stays wherever you keep it; the app does not connect to your bank, hold funds or move money.

How much is $1 a day for a year?
At $1 a day for 365 days, you would put aside $365. At $2 a day, that becomes $730. These totals do not include interest.
Do I need to save the same amount every day?
No. The calculator uses a fixed daily amount to give you an example. In Pocket Panda you can log the amount you actually put aside, even when it changes from day to day.
Is this a savings account?
No. This is a calculator, and Pocket Panda is a manual savings tracker. Neither opens an account, holds your money or pays interest.
